Marriage of an Iranian man with a foreign woman
Marriage registration process:
In order to apply for a marriage registration, the applicant must first visit the Mikhak site i.e. https://mikhak.mfa.gov.ir and register and then fill the application online form for marriage registration and upload the related documents. After receiving the tracking code receipt (which is a 12 characters code) from the site, the applicant should visit the Consulate General with original documents.
Required documents:
1- Completing the application online form in the mikhak site
2- Wife's birth certificate
Note: If the woman is of non-Indian origin, it is mandatory to submit a birth certificate (containing full details of the woman and her parents) from the embassy of the country of birth in India, which has also been approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India. If this certificate has been approved by the Iranian embassy in the country of birth, there is no need for the above measures.
3- The original shenasnameh of male
4- The original certificate of celibacy (if the shenasnameh of the male is duplicates)
5- Providing the original passport of the woman.
6- In case the applicant is divorcee, the original of the divorce certificate must be provided.
7- The original certificate of conversion of a woman to the religion of Islam (tasharof be Islam) from reputed Islamic centres and mosques in India (if the man is Muslim and the woman is non-Muslim)
8- The original Sharia marriage certificate from one of the reputable Islamic centres and mosques in India (for fellow Zoroastrians, Jewish and Christians, it is mandatory to present a certificate of marriage ceremony according to the usual procedure in the mentioned religions)
9- Official Indian marriage certificate (issued by authorised Indian institution, like municipality)
10- The original health certificate and the result of the couple's medical tests, including blood group, absence of sexually transmitted disease, Thalassemia, absence of drug addiction, and a certificate from one of the reputed hospitals or medical centres in India.
Note: If more than one year has passed since the marriage of the couple or the couple have children, it is not mandatory to submit this certificate.
11- Four new photos 4x3 full face, non-immediate, non-electric, without hats and glasses and with a white background of a man and a woman with Islamic hijab.
12- Completing the special form for using the couple's last name if wants.
considerations:
- According to the Civil Law of the Islamic Republic of Iran, foreign spouses of Iranian men are considered citizens of Iran after marriage registration, and an Iranian birth certificate will be issued to them, so it is mandatory for foreign women to complete birth certificate issuance documents.
