Power of Attorney (Vikalatnama)

In order to prepare a power of attorney (Vikalatnama), you should pay attention to the following points:

•    The applicant must first log into Mikhak site i.e. https://mikhak.mfa.gov.ir and register. Then select POA (Vikalatnama) section and choosing the type of power of attorney (Vikalatnama) and fill in the details of the attorney (Vakil). In the end the tracking code should be obtained.
•    To obtain signature here by the original documents of one of your valid Iranian identification documents (Shenasnameh or Passport or national ID card), visit to the Consulate General.

The cost of confirming all types of Power of Attorney:

- POA related to administrative, banking and pension affairs, purchase of movable property (car), pension, judicial, etc.: 2100 rupees

- POA related to the sale of movable property such as cars, motorcycles, company or bank shares, etc.: 3150 rupees

- POA related to the sale of immovable property such as: flat, apartment, land, garden, shop, etc.: 13860 rupees

- POA for the purchase of immovable property such as real estate: 5250 rupees

- Consent for departure of spouse and children: 2100 rupees

   Delivery of power of attorney in Iran:

According to your request, it is possible that the POA will be delivered to your attorney (Vakil) after approval in Iran. In this case, you can get a copy of the original POA by paying an additional amount of 1575 rupees.

Note: In order to receive a POA, an attorney or any person specified by you, should go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran or the provincial offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Important notes:

1.     The consulate General is only responsible for verifying your signature, so it is suggested that you discuss your POA with one of Iran's official notary offices or a reputable lawyer before approval.
2.      The text of the POA should be as accurate as possible and full details should be included. For example, in the bank POA, include the name of the bank, the name and code of the branch, and the account number. Also, in the POA for the sale of the property, it is necessary to include the registration number that mentioned in the ownership document.
3.     There are some samples of POA on the site. Therefore you can choose that POA which is suitable for your work and also you can edit, add and delete some sentences.
4.      The name of the deceased and his relationship with the principal must be included in the POA of inheritance.
5.      According to Article 210 of the Civil Law of Iran, the parties must have legal capacity. Therefore, people who are under 18 years age or are amnesiac, or for some reason do not have the necessary awareness to recognize their interests, are not qualified to enter into a POA.
