Participating in the Global India Business Forum (GIBF)

On Friday, May 17, 2024, His Excellency Dr. Rezaei Eskandari, along with members of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai, attended a distinguished dinner ceremony hosted by Dr. Joshi, President of the Global India Business Forum. This event took place at Dr. Joshi's residence complex and included ambassadors and consuls from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Russia. The gathering provided a platform for high-level discussions on fostering international business relations.

 

GIBF Business Conference

On the following day, Saturday, May 18, Dr. Rezaei, alongside diplomats from the aforementioned countries and Armenia, participated in the Global India Business Forum (GIBF) business conference. This conference focused on strengthening business ties between India and Central Asian countries.

During the conference, representatives from various countries showcased their business opportunities, investment prospects, and the general economic conditions of their nations. In his address, Dr. Rezaei shared the positive news of the recently signed ten-year Chabahar agreement between Iran and India, highlighting that Iranian citizens can now enter India without a visa. This announcement was met with applause and enthusiasm from the attendees.

Dr. Rezaei also detailed Iran's business opportunities and export products, emphasizing the potential for increased trade and cooperation between Iran and other participating countries.

 

Specialized Panel Discussion

A key feature of the conference was a specialized panel discussion featuring representatives from Iran, Russia, Armenia, and Tajikistan. During this session, Dr. Rezaei addressed various questions and concerns from businessmen, including:

- Issues related to financial payments to countries under embargo.

- Language barriers and the importance of native language communication in business dealings.

- Potential areas for commercial cooperation and service provision.

Dr. Rezaei's insights helped clarify these challenges and identified solutions to facilitate smoother international business interactions.

 

Government-to-Business (G2B) Meeting

The conference concluded with a Government-to-Business (G2B) meeting, where officials and representatives from the invited countries engaged with businessmen from Maharashtra state. This meeting focused on practical aspects of business cooperation, with Indian businessmen from sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, animal and poultry feed, and medical services discussing collaboration opportunities with members of the consulate general. Detailed information on advancing business cooperation was provided, paving the way for future partnerships and economic growth.
