Gold Imports to India for Travelers

✅ Duty-Free Allowance: Men: Up to 20 grams of gold with a maximum value of ₹50000. Women: Up to 40 grams of gold with a maximum value of ₹100000.

These quantities must be in the form of personal jewelry and must be declared at customs upon arrival.

💰 Importing More than the Above Limits:

• Travelers who have resided outside India for more than 6 months may bring up to 1 kilogram of gold, subject to payment of customs duty.
• Customs duty rate has been reduced from 15% to 6%.

• Failure to declare gold or carrying amounts above the allowed limit without declaration can result in confiscation, heavy fines, and even legal action.
• It is mandatory to prove the legal source of the gold and provide a purchase invoice.
