Successful Rescue of Three Indian Nationals in Tehran Following Visa Scam
We are pleased to report the successful rescue of three Indian nationals who had gone missing shortly after arriving in Tehran Iran.
According to intelligence reports, the individuals were deceived by a fraudulent Instagram account falsely claiming to offer assistance with obtaining Australian visas. After entering the country, all contact with them was lost, prompting serious concern among their families and authorities.
In the days following their disappearance, their families began receiving ransom demands totaling ₹1.8 million. In response, Iranian security forces launched a comprehensive investigation in coordination with legal authorities. Through precise intelligence monitoring and rapid response measures, the perpetrators were located in Varamin, Tehran Province.
In a swift and targeted operation, four suspects were apprehended, and the three Indian nationals were safely recovered. Notably, several other foreign nationals—also victims of similar deceitful schemes—were discovered at the same location.
We commend the dedication and professionalism of the Iranian authorities in ensuring the safety and well-being of foreign nationals on their soil. We also urge the public to remain cautious and verify the authenticity of any visa-related services, particularly those advertised through unofficial or unverified social media platforms.
