Exchange of Shenasnameh (birth certificate)
In order to exchange the old handwritten shenasnameh (red cover) as well as the one without photo that was issued to persons under the age of fifteen, it must be exchanged with the new one (printed shenasnameh). The presence of the applicant and one of the parents is mandatory for persons between 15 to 18 years of age at the Consulate General.
Required documents:
1- Correct and completely filled application form (if the applicant is 15-18 years old, the application form must be completed by his father. If the applicant is over 18 years old, the application form must be completed by the applicant himself)
2- Original shenasnameh
3- The picture of one of the valid Iranian photo identification documents, including passport, national ID card
4- Four pieces of new 4x3 full-face colour photos (from the front), non-immediate, non-electric, without hats and glasses, with white background, and Islamic hijab for women over 9 years age
5- The cost of exchange is INR 3150/-
